Release: Tinkly Tinkly (Jess Green’s Bright Sparks)

From the media release:

The second release from Sydney guitarist / composer / vocalist Jess Green, Tinkly Tinkly further blurs the boundaries of jazz. Drawing inspiration from large jazz ensembles led by Charles Mingus and Dave Holland, Tinkly Tinkly also delivers moments of raucous rock mash-ups, country-afro grooves, serious music portraiture, and smatterings of minimalism. Green’s compositions defy form and move from guitar-based romps to singer/songwriter commentary and soundscapes.

Originally recorded by ABC Jazztrack over two separate sessions, Tinkly Tinkly is the follow up to the Green Septet’s debut album The Singing Fish and Other Short Stories (Jazzgroove Records, 2005)
