In the last few months Miriam has been working with 26 very special people to create a set of souvenir postcards to help celebrate Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues 25th birthday.
We started with the premise that jazz and improvised music taps deeply into the creativity of the musicians who make it. If a musician can perform on stage in front of two or two thousand people, being in the moment and composing in real time, then what else might they be capable of?
We provided the sketchiest of briefs to the 25 musicians who have taken out a National Jazz Award in the years between 1990 and 2013. These cards are the delightfully eclectic result.
The 26th wonderful person was Emma Phillips of Merge Studios, who took all the contributions and created a set of gorgeous print files for us to send the printer.
Congratulations to Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues for 25 years of beautiful music.
