Winter is here, but don’t worry, music will keep us warm. Because it is the jazz festival season, officially beginning tonight, with the glorious launch of this year’s astonishing Stonnington Jazz Festival. Ten days of wonderful music and amazing people, the best warm-up for the mighty Melbourne International Jazz Festival, with an absolutely mouth-watering line-up. On the same weekend, in another part of the country, the powerful Perth International Jazz Festival has some aces up its sleeve. Some days later, in June, the Street Theatre in Canberra will host the captivating Capital Jazz Project. Around the same time, the brave Brisbane International Jazz Festival will take place. Brace yourselves up. We’ll keep you posted, of course. And we promise to go easy on the alliterations.
