Dispositions, the duo of Phil Treloar and James McLean, will tour Brisbane and Melbourne from November 19-24
(From the Media Release)
Dispositions is the flexible duo of percussionist/composer Phil Treloar and drummer James McLean. In November they will be performing in Brisbane and Melbourne, both as a duo and with guests including Samuel Pankhurst, Scott McConnachie and Scott Tinkler.
The concerts will feature a range of improvised and composed works. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the tour is the premiere of Treloar’s new composition Prashantarutasagaravati. The hour-long piece, inspired by Treloar’s Buddhist faith, promises to be a significant work in the history of Australian jazz and improvised music. Prashantarutasagaravati will be performed by Treloar (marimba), McLean (drumset), Samuel Pankhurst (double bass) and Scott McConnachie (saxophones).
